Purpose
The homelab provides a repeatable environment to learn infrastructure by operating it: creating networks, deploying services, testing access controls, documenting configurations, breaking components safely, and restoring service.
Current stack
- Proxmox virtualization.
- OPNsense firewalling and segmentation.
- WireGuard secure remote access.
- Linux virtual machines and services.
- Controlled integration with project backends and telemetry.
Evidence to publish
- Sanitized logical architecture diagram.
- Service catalog and purpose.
- Backup and restoration test.
- Access-control and segmentation test cases.
- Monitoring and failure-recovery notes.
Security boundary
The public case study will never expose credentials, private keys, detailed external attack surfaces, or unnecessary addressing information. The goal is to demonstrate architecture and operational discipline without creating risk.
